At the loudest points of my song playing, the sound crackles, and I think this is important: the crackling is retained even when I export as an MP3. I have played around with FL's Audio Settings but to no avail. At these loudest, crackling points, the volume bar at the top of FL (to the right of the wave bar) hits the very right end and becomes red. I had no such issues on my XPS 15 with i7-7700HQ, but I recently switched to a thinner ultrabook with a dual-core i7-7500U (8GB, but RAM doesn't seem to be an issue), and my CPU usage ramps up to 3GHz+ when using FL, so my first presumption was that this is a processor issue. However, I did some googling and people seem to say that they had no issues with the dual-core i7-6500U or 7500U, so I'm at a loss.
I'm currently considering switching back to the XPS, but it will be a pretty big hassle, so I just want to see if there's anything else I can do from a software side. I'd really appreciate any suggestions, thanks! EDIT: I see now through Kontakt's menu that the CPU load bar is hitting the maximum. Is there nothing any setting I can change to limit CPU usage? EDIT 2 (Solution to my problem): I pulled the master volume (top left hand of external FL window) to the top, and this caused the crackling. When the master on the mixer goes in the red, it clips, this distorts the audio of the track.(bad distortion) When something isn't zero crossing.

If so then take your mouse, click and drag to select the entire sample -the non-zero-crossing part. And click the scissors then trim. Your sample is not good. Now click and hold the icon to the top right of Edison(the window you are in) it should let you drag the new sample into the channel rack.
Now that sample is fixed.
