It's beautiful poetry and prose, full of wisdom and insight. So when I found this LP that I'd not heard of, I was pretty excited. What's more exciting is the words are all read by - most recognizable to me from his roles as and.

What's even more exciting is that the musicians in this recording are all great. Most notably, Steve Gadd (drums, check out his solo on 'Aja' by Steeley Dan) and Tony Levin (bass, Peter Gabriel's bassist for years). The music is at times soaring, and at others pensive - progressive(-ish) rock, fitting the 1974 period in which it was recorded. It's all very good, and the thoughts and words in Harris' weathered, British voice take on an immediacy transformed by the energy of the arrangements. It's cool to discover a release like this. A merging of poetry and music, literature and vinyl.
